Antonio Conte has been left frustrated with Chelsea’s transfer business after failing in their third bid for Juventus wing-back, Alex Sandro.
Reports in Calciomercato claim that the Italian giants have rejected a £73 million bid from Chelsea for Sandro, much to the dismay of Conte who has continually come out lament his squad size ahead of another campaign.
The bid is believed to include bonuses and add-ons and would have probably become Chelsea’s new record signing while Sandro will be the most expensive defender of all-time.
Conte has consistently decried the state of his squad size ahead of a tough campaign which has seen them lost their opening fixture to Burnley at Stamford Bridge last Saturday.
Marcos Alonso who arrived Stamford Bridge from Fiorentina last summer, has done well in the left wing-back position but Conte is keen on adding more players with equal ability to his current squad before the end of the summer window.
Juventus are adamant on not allowing Sandro leave the club this summer, despite keen interest from Chelsea, following his impressive displays in the wing-back position last season as they got to the final of the Champions League only to lose to Real Madrid in Cardiff, Wales.
