Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has revealed the reason he turned down a move to Arsenal last summer. The french intenational disclosed that the Blues had a more concrete offer than Arsenal.
The former Leicester City midfielder has been a standout performer for the Blues this season with impressive solid displays at the centre of the pack in Antonio Conte’s 3-4-3 formation.
The 25-year-old was a subject of transfer interest from several clubs last summer following his brilliance for the Foxes last season, helping them to title-winning feat against all odds. Arsene Wenger was believed to have made efforts to sign Kante, having monitored him since his time at Ligue 1 with Caen.
The France international has now revealed he had to reject advances from the Gunners to join Chelsea due to the keen interest from Stamford Bridge.
He told Sky Sports: ‘With Arsenal there was an interest but not a big as other clubs,
‘That is why I didn’t go to Arsenal and went to Chelsea.
Arsenal went on to sign Granit Xhaka to the central midfield area, who has shown glimpses of his quality for the Gunners but has come under criticism for his poor disciplinary record , meanwhile N’Golo Kante has continued his emphatic form under Antonio Conte.
